Higher Level Teaching Assistants

Provision by Granada Learning Professional Development (GLPD)

GLPD are delighted to have been selected as approved providers for HLTA training and assessment.

Working in partnership with David Fulton Publishers, our lead assessor for the HLTA provision is Dr. Anne Watkinson, recognised author of books for teaching assistants such as The Essential Guide for Competent Teaching Assistants and The Essential Guide for Experienced Teaching Assistants.

Our full training course for HLTA is based on the books written by one of our best-selling authors, Glenys Fox, author of A Handbook for Learning Support Assistants.

GLPD are working in partnership with a team of very experienced tutors and assessors to provide the highest level of training and assessment for the HLTA programme.

Literacy and numeracy requirements: HLTA Standard 11

Evidence that you have standard 11 is now required prior to starting your HLTA preparation.

Lost your qualification certificates?
If you have mislaid your exam certificates you can you will need to contact the awarding body for copy certificates.
There are now 5 main awarding bodies, if you know who your original awarding body was, the following link will help you find the awarding body relevant to your qualifications

Need a qualification?
If you do not have a relevant qualification the easiest way to meet this standard in either numeracy or/and literacy is to take the Adult certificate at Level 2. Your local authority can usually help you in preparing for and taking this test.
