Leckie & Leckie unveils new SQA PC Passport series21 September (SETT 2005, stand A20) – The first of three new learning resources for the Scottish Qualifications Authority’s practical qualification, PC Passport, will be launched at SETT 2005. Published by Leckie & Leckie, Scotland’s leading educational publisher, the new PC Passport Course Notes and CD-ROM series is designed to help secondary students and employees improve their computer skills and prepare for the PC Passport examination. PC Passport is a Scottish Progression Award and receives full, appropriate credit through the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. As such, it is recognised by employers, training providers and admissions staff. PC Passport is a flexible, inclusive scheme that contains three skill levels to ensure that all users can benefit. The Beginner course is designed for the complete novice who has no previous computer experience. The next level, the Intermediate course, is intended for more competent users as it focuses on the key skills required in the modern workplace. This is ideal for Scottish National Qualifications students. The Advanced course covers IT skills in much greater depth. Leckie & Leckie’s Intermediate Course Notes will be available at SETT 2005, with the Beginner Course Notes published in January 2006 and the Advanced Course Notes following in April 2006.
